The oxen are slow, but the earth is patient.

I have never seen Dave Knab's floating house.
My only regret in life is that I was not born someone else.
I collect refrigerator magnets from places I haven't been.
I've never touched a drop of alcohol in my life, unless you count rum.
I've been married 39 years, my wife says I gave her the best years of her life: 1976 and 1982.
I've almost finished my BS degree. Major: Psychology of Underachievement.
If a man speaks in the forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?
I hate reality, but it is still the best place to get a good steak.
I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying.
Money is better than poverty, if only for financial reasons.
I am thankful for laughter, except when milk comes out of my nose.
More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroad. One path leads to dispair and utter hopelessness. The other leads to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.
I believe that there is something out there watching over us. Unfortunately it's the government.
I've never had any earthly idea what I was doing, but incompletence has never prevented me from plunging ahead with enthusiasm.

Hi everyone hope you all have a fabulous time. I won't be able to make it , I just moved to NJ two months ago.
I have been married going on 41 years this December. I have three children and eight grandchildren. My husband has had numerous small strokes over the past fives/six years so we moved from Oregon two years ago to Louisiana to live with one of our daughters and her family so they could help with the care of him. Then my husband, son and I decided to move to NJ. I had lived in NJ when I was 13 for 4 years and loved it. I have remained friends all these years with Barb who is from NJ. My husband is doing good for now so he was all for moving here since he had never been to the east coast, and he loves American history, so what better place to retire to, Philadelphia is only an hour away.  Our oldest daughter still lives in Oregon with her husband and three children.
Again hope you all have a great time.

Numerous years ago, I ran into John Rivenburgh and after reminiscing a bit, he told me the following story. When he went off to college, I think it was Colorado, he was asked about his home town. John told the group he lived in a small town in an old rain forest near a beauitful lake and  huge river where he hiked, swam, waterskied, fished, played all the sports, chased gorgeous girls and had the best ice cream in the world at a place called Newtons.  A hour west was the Pacific Ocean where he would go to eat fresh fish, surf, swim, explore, photograph and hike. An hour east were millions of acres of National forest including Mt. Hood were he would snow ski, sled, snowmoble, camp, hike, fish and horseback ride. Several of the other students remarked to John; "that you grew up in Paradise". I responded to John that when I went off to college in Utah (Gary Byer was eventually a roommate), I  experienced the exact same feedback from friends in Utah when I told them about Lake Oswego but they didn't believe me. They said there was no place like that on the earth and if it did exist it was in Europe near the Alps.
I grew up a block east of Lakewood elementary school on Church St. which was very close to the Willamette River, every day after school I was at George Rogers Park playing football, baseball, basketball  or exploring up and down the river or fishing with Tony Spears (I still have the scar Tony gave me in a bicycle accident when we crashed and burned), Brad Miller, John Rivenburgh, Brad Baldwin, Chris Stapleton, Joe Holec (Joe and I were born on the same day) and many others.  I experienced my first crushes on girls from a distance with Kim Boring, Janie Pittman, Cindy Reed, Nancy Curtain and many others.
My first job was delivering the Oregonian with Clayton Zeigler, and then moved on to work for Dr. Puterbaugh's animal clinic in Lake Grove (we moved to behind Uplands elementary) as a "super duper pooper scooper" with Bunnel, Craig Cliff, Tom Mittendorf and others. Then I  finally worked for Lee Woodard's Chervon gas station with Bob Cranwick and Tom McGinnis.
At LOHS, although I was short, and immature, (I did not go through puberty until the summer before our junior year I never experienced any bullying) the one time I saw bullying of another, Don Wilson and others put a stop to it immediately. I believe this is amazing in that there were some in the class that had disabilities. I think part of the greatness of the class is the gentle giants that were leading us including: Chuck Friezen, Lauri Hughes, Craig Falkenhagen, Carolyn Wilson, David Rock, Emily Crumpacker, Tom Sands , Tom Merlott and many many more.
I have traveled some in my life and I am oftened asked where I am from, and although I have lived 40 years in Utah, I always respond that I am from Lake Oswego, Oregon. One of the many regrets in life is that my four children can not say the same thing. Thanks to those who keep putting on these reunions for your time and service, thanks to Karen Wallace for your past articles in the Review, hope you are still doing them. It is good to remember. Best Wishes and may God bless you all!!!!

My "career path" jogged from forest products exporting to elementary school teaching.  Now I'm tasting the fruit of discretionary time:  lots of jazz piano, cycling, yoga, backpacking, gardening, cooking, and enjoying the company of family and friends.  These reunions every five years continue to amaze me with everyone's vitality and unique life stories.

Since out last reunion I have moved from Amity, to Monmouth/Independence area. I have 4 daughters and 4 son-in-laws. I now have 14 grandchildren. One of those is a granddaughter in-law (but I love her with all my heart), one is a great grand son, Bexen Steele (I think he will be  spy), 2 are in heave (1 still born, Rechard, the other died in a fall last Septemeber he was 8yrs old, Daniel). There are 8 grandsons, and 5 granddaughters. When we have get togethers they are BIG.

I have worked for about 25 years with at risk youth. In vering places. I know have a Power2Learn a business dedicated to serving adults and children who find themselves struggling to work or learn. I use two main programs Struture of Intellect, and Irlen (light sensativity). I can help discover careers for anyone who is struggling with what they want to do.

My husband and I have started motorcycle touring. We are currently riding a 1989 Honda Goldwing. A big 900lb. bike. It has been lots of fun riding arounding Oregon, with friends, seeing back roads I didin't know were there.

Although my family has had some very rough spots in the last two years we are blessed with so much of Gods grace it is overflowing. Some of you knew my mother, Velda. She passed away two years ago August, and my little sister. Debbie, die suddenly January of that same year. So you can see this has been a very difficult 2 years. But God has given us some great blessings. Like the reuniting of some of our old friends in Monmouth/Independence, our family is closer than ever, we have found a wonderful new church, my business is movin forward slowly but forward, and best I have been married 44 years to the same wonderful guy. So really life is sooooo good. God is sooooo good to me. Amen!
